SUCCESS FOR OLD PERTH 12-YEAR-OLD AT THE 2022 INTERNATIONAL WINE AND SPIRITS COMPETITION

Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers have been awarded a gold medal at the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition for its Old Perth 12-Year-Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky.

Once regarded as one of the best blends in existence by publicans and hoteliers, Old Perth had been largely forgotten until the Morrison family added it to their portfolio. The new range has been extremely positive reception, with the Old Perth Cask Strength expression, bottled at 58.6% ABV receiving a silver award at the completion in 2021 and Old Perth Original awarded a gold medal at the 2021 International Spirits Challenge.

Old Perth 12-Year-Old was the final expression to be released from the core Old Perth range. It received a score of 96/100 from the IWSC competition judges, who recording the following tasting notes:

‘Sweet fruit compote, nutmeg, raisins, rhubarb crumble, pears and fruit cake throughout. A delicious complex medley of nutty almonds, cocoa and sherry aromas. Spiced toasted bitter finish laced with chocolate. Wonderful.’
